FAULTY PRESSED CD
In April 1990, several faulty copies of the BRANDED & EXILED CD appeared in Switzerland. It looks exactly like any other B&E CD, but actually contains the songs from GATES TO PURGATORY. Around the centre of the CD there is this marking:” MAGNA W-GERMANY 3100105 (A)”. This CD was discovered by accident. Dane bought a CD from the importers for a fan club member in Turkey and the member sent it back with a friendly letter of compliant. This CD went into Dane’s collection and is now owned by an ex-Metal Pirate in Germany.

The song “King Of The Midnight Fire” was also recorded but could not be fit onto the album for reasons of space. This album (on LP only!) was never publicly released.

DRUM KIT (First professional)
When Hasche joined RW he needed a professional drum kit. His dream kit was a Pearl drum kit with a single bass drum, 6 toms etc. But this kit cost 1500 DM – a fortune! The cousin of Hasche’s girlfriend’s grandmother (sounds like a logic problem !) owned a music shop and in this roundabout way, Hasche was able to buy the drum kit at a good discount.
DRUM WORKSHOP TOUR
At the end of 1990 drummer AC, Jens and Paiste organized a Drum Workshop Tour through Germany. They were accompanied by Axel Morgan, although it was not known at the time that he was the new RW guitarist. The workshops were mostly held in small shops and clubs and fans could hear the trio play samples and also try out AC’s drum kit.
E
EAST GERMAN TOUR
RUNNING WILD’s first tour through the ex-East Germany Republic took place in July 1990. Four
concerts were planned: Bad Langensalza, Boizenburg,Berlin and Wolgast. Bad Longensalza was replaced by Open Air Theater on 19th July in Dresden, where RAGE and HEADLESS played as openers. Boizenburg and Wolgast had to be canceled for technical reasons, as they not supply enough electricity for RUNNING WILD’s show! The Berlin concert took place a day later than planned, on 22nd July at the Open Air Theater of Weissensee Lake. RAGE, MOTHER LITTLE NIGHTMARE, V2 and HEADLESS were also on the billing.
EQUIPMENT
RUNNING WILD used the following equipment in 1992:

Ernie Ball strings
Jens Becker – Warwick Bass,
Rotosound strings
Axel Morgan – B.C.Rich guitars,

F
FINLAY Iain
Born 7.03.1963 in England. Formerly played with DEMON PACT, AXON IV, OPERA, RICHARD HEAD BAND and TOUCH. Iain joined RW in September 1988 just before the release of PORT ROYAL. Rolf was very upset that Stefan Schwarzmann had left the band and therefore Iain’s photo was included on the cover and Stefan, who had actually done all the drumming, was hardly mentioned. Iain had to sit out most of the PORT ROYAL tour because of a broken hand (he fell off a bar stool!) and was replaced by Jorg Michael for these dates. Iain was however with the band did his fire-spitting trick on stage at every show.On the 18.10.1989, one day after the show (following the DEATH OR GLORY VIDEO recordings) in Tor-3, Dusseldorf, Iain was thrown out of the band. Some of the reasons were that he’d constantly argued and fought with Majk, he’d promised EMI (without Rolf’s knoweledge) that the band would make a cover-version of an AC/DC song and he was, in Rolf’ swords: ”getting too big for his boots”. Iain got back to the practise rooms before the others and stole the entire drumkit and then changed the lock, so the band couldn’t get in! Jorg Michael again stepped in for the DEATH OR GLORY tour, had to use a borrowed drumkit before Iain returned the band’s own drumkit towards the end of the tour.
Iain today plays with the cover-band TOUCH but there is talk thathe may be helping X-WILD out for their 1996 tour.

GIANTS OF ROCK
Annual Open-Air rock festival, held on the race circuit of Hameenlinna, to the north of Helsinki (Finland). RUNNING WILD played here 28.07.1990 besides PRETTY MAIDS, SODOM, and URIAH HEEP. It was Majk Moti’s last show with RUNNING WILD.
Set-list: Riding The Storm, Renegade, Raise Your Fist, Port Royal, Bad To The Bone, Drum-solo, Conquistadores, Uaschitschun, Prisoners Of Our Time, Under Jolly Roger, Chains & Leather.
GIGS The first
The very first concert took place in 1978 in the Veermoor School under the old band name GRANITE HEART with original line-up: Rolf, Hasche, Matthias and Uwe. GH also once auditioned for a talent contest in the Hamburg discoteque “Rainbow”.
In Spring 1981 the band played for the first time under the name of RUNNING WILD in the “Multonne” discotheque in Stade. This was followed by several concerts in the Hartsprung School in Thorstedt; at the Stellingen Youth Club; in a hall in Hansweg, Hamburg about which the very first manager Olaf Schumann says:” That was the first time that we were allowed to make a real noise, it was great!” and in 1982 in the Bondenwald School hall.
The show in Bondenwald was the last concert for Uwe and Matthias.
When Preacher and Stephan joined the band, they again played twice in the Stellingen Youth Club in 1982.
GRANITE HEART
Rock’n’Rolf’s very first band, founded in 1978, when Rolf was still at school. The band comprised of Rolf and his school comrades Uwe Bendig (guit.), Michael Hoffmann (dr.) and Jorg Schwarz (bass) (who was later replaced by Carsten David). At this time, Hasche and Matthias Kaufmann had their own band – GROBER UNFUG. When Rolf and Uwe change schools, GH was partly broken up. They looked for and found a bass player Matthias Kaufmann and a drummer Hasche. The band was renamed RUNNING WILD in 1982.
GROBER UNFUG
The first band of Hasche and his friend Matthias Kaufmann.
These two musicians joined GRANITE HEART in 1978.
GUITAR, Rock’n’Rolf’s first
Rolf says:” I had decided to become a musician and wanted to buy a guitar. So, to get the money for it I sold my railway set and went to the Herti Store and bought my first electric guitar for 98 DM.”. This guitar has become lost in the mists of time!
H
HANL Thorsten
Manager of the band between 1986 and February 1988. The band prematurely cancelled the contract with Hanl, because they said he had not fulfilled his duties to their satisfaction. They went to Drakkar and signed a contract there. The court case concerning the unlawful cancelling of the contract took years and was finally settled in 1992. The judges awarded Hanl a sum of money to be paid by the musicians of the Hanl period (Rolf, Hasche, Borris and Preacher and/or Moti). In actual fact , Rolf paid the entire sum out of the band funds owned by the band members of 1992. This caused dissatisfaction amongst these “new” musicians, Who had joined the band long after the Hanl contract had been cancelled and thus were legally exempt from payment.
HASCHE
Born on 7.05.1961. Real name – Wolfgang Hagemann. RW’s first drummer. Had been playing drums since his 11th birthday. Left the band on 10.05.1987 after being sacked for “laziness”. His last show was Carlton Rock Palace, Copenhagen on 1.05.87. Today Hasche is the Promotions- and PR-Manager of the Rockfabrik, Ludwigsburg. He played one show with RW as guest drummer in 1989 during the PORT ROYAL Tour. Hasche was probably the first HM drummer, who refused to accept the usual position of the drummer behind the “stars” on stage. He greatly enhanced the status of the drummer in Germany by his personality, energy and stage show, during which he used 4-meter long, burning drumsticks and other gags.
The history of his unusual name is described by Hasche as follows: “It was in the 3rd oder 4th grade in school. In my class there were three boys with the same name – Wolfgang. It was the time of hippies and there was this saying (roughly translated as):”with some hash in your bag, you’ll never need a fag” (fag – cigarette!!). I got this name of Hasche from somewhere and it became semi-official I was even allowed to sign my exam papers with “Hasche”!
Hasche’s relationship to the band is still very good and he often visits the band on tour when he has the time.
HARD’N’HEAVY
Heavy Metal program which used to be on the satellite TV transmitter of Tele-5 from 1989 to 1990. The program used to be on Wednesday evenings and RUNNING WILD were often seen in the program. It was a very well put together show.
The program was cut from the TV in 1990 due to pressure from religious and moral minority group.
HEADBANGERS BALL
A “heavy metal” program in MTV which has unfortunately become more thrash and grunge-oriented over the past few years. RUNNING WILD is hardly ever seen in this program – usually only when a viewer specifically requests them. I
INDIANER JOE
Leather boutique which used to be at Reeperbahn 115,
Hamburg. RUNNING WILD used to buy a lot of their
stage clothes here, including the “Port Royal” and
“Death Or Glory” jackets. Indianer Joe used 10000 studs
on the four “Death Or Glory” jackets! Many other stars,
including MICHAEL JACKSON bought clothes here.
The shop closed down and Indianer Joe disappeared
mysteriously in 1991.

METAL MANFRED
Real name – Manfred Eisenblatter. A German journalist and photographer, who showed great courage in 1987 by giving the album UNDER JOLLY ROGER 6 points out of 6 in the April 1987 edition of METAL HAMMER (everyone else gave it 1 or 2 points). He accompanied the band in April 1987 to a festival in Katovice (Poland) and experienced a very funny adventure on the way...
METAL PIRATES
The official RUNNING WILD-Fan club between 1988 and 1993.
The first RW-Fanclub “Adrian” was founded in 1983 by Jens Zussy. In 1985 Zussy was told to hand over all the fan club documentation to the band manager Thorsten Hanl and the fan club was badly neglected.
Between April 1988 and the end of 1988 the fanclub was in the hands of Majk and Connie Moti and had a total 12 members. When Majk left the band, he left a box in the practise room containing over 500 unanswered fan letters. The registered letters had been opened and the contents removed.
Between the release of PORT ROYAL and DEATH OR GLORY the fan club was taken over by Dane Kurth. Rolf suggested the fan club name of “Metal Pirates”. The fan club was multi-lingual with – at one time – members in 22 countries. A quarterly magazine was published and the fan club had a variety of special merchandise. It also had special offers, a song lyrics service etc. Due to reasons of health, finances and disappointment when all the band members were sacked by Rolf, the fan club was closed down in February 1993. The entire assets of the fan club (money and merchandise) was distributed fairly amongst the members. At the time of writing, there is no RUNNING WILD Fanclub. Fan mail is supposed to be being dealt with by Drakkar in Germany.
MICHAEL Jorg
Born on 27.03.1963. Jorg has played with multitude of bands, amongst others: BLIZZARD, RISS, RAYMEN, RAGE, PAGANINI, MEKONG DELTA and others. In January and February 1989 he interrupted his studio work in order to replace the injured Iain Finlay on the WELCOME TO PORT ROYAL Tour. When RUNNING WILD sacked Iain in Autumn 1989, Jorg was again asked to play in the band for the DEATH OR GLORY Tour in January-February 1990. In September 1989, Jorg played with the English band LAOS fell in love with the singer – Gudrun Laos and married her. When Rolf sacked all the band members in February 1993, Jorg was asked to do the drumming for BLACK HAND INN and to go on tour with the band. He also did the drumming and touring for MASQUERADE in January 1996. He has now apparently permanently joined the Scandinavian band STRADIVARI.
MICHELLE
Record store in Hamburg. In October 1984, just before the release party of GATES TO PURGATORY, the owner of the shop Klaus suggested a small autograph session with RUNNING WILD who, at this time, was just seen as a small local band. Klaus was expecting about 2 dozen fans, but 300 fans turned up to get the bands autographs!
MISUNDERSTANDINGS
SONG-TITEL:
a) When the band faxed the list of songs on the BLAZON STONE album from StudioM through to
their record company NOISE, two titles were apparently not very legiblt. In any case ,NOISE copied the list and filled in the missing letters themselves – instead of “Little Big Horn” they wrote “Little Big Man” and instead of “Bloody Red Rose” they wrote “Bloody Red Nose”!
b)In a German Fanzine in 1985, several titles were also misspelled – they wrote about “Realm Of
Spades”, “Branded & Excited”, “Chains & Letter”!
VIDEO:
The 1987 video “RUNNING WILD” is not about the band, but is a summary of the 1987 Paris-Dakkar car rally!
POSTER:
The tour poster “GIRLSCHOOL-RUNNING WILD” has nothing to do with the band RUNNING WILD, but is simply the name of GIRLSCHOOL’s tour after the release of their album “Running Wild”.
MONDAY EVENING ROCKSHOW
On 27.11.1989 Rolf and Majk gave a long interview in this German radio program.
MORGAN Axel
Born on 5.4.1963. Real name Axel Tomas Kohlmorgen. Axel is the son of an English mother and a distant relation of the famous pirate captain Henry Morgan. Axel has been playing guitar since his youth in Schleswig Holstein, took three years tuition in classical guitar and played with IN FORCE, WESTCOAST and TUESS, who also released an album.During the work for PAISTE, Axel met AC who told him about the guitar job that became free in Summer 1990 when Majk was fired. Axel applied for the audition and wanted to wait until the auditions, to be held in February 1991. One day Rolf heard Axel playing guitar and asked Axel to join the band, as he said, he’d never heard anyone play guitar in the “right” style before.
Along with the other band members, Axel was sacked in February 1993 and founded X-WILD with Stefan Schwarzmann and Jens Becker. Axel shares his apartment with 14 tortoises and a cat, so he probably keeps fit chasing
them around!
MOTI Majk
Born on 29.8.1957. Real name – Michael Kupper. Formerly guitarist
with ENVELOPE, METALLIAN and RANDOM. Joined RUNNING
WILD on 2.9.1985 and after a short practise period, played his first gig
with them on 14.11.1985 at the Loreley-Festival.
His last show with RUNNING WILD was on 28.7.1990 at the Giants
Of Rock Festival on Finland. He left the band on 30.7.1990. Officially
Majk left of his own accord, but he was in reality sacked following a
vote held amongst the other band members. The reasons were various –
some problems with the band’s finances which Majk had been “looking
after”, his apparent lack of interest in practise sessions, and the fact that
it was ascertained that some band equipment which Majk had reported
stolen had, in fact been sold by himself.
Majk wrote the lyrics of “Tear Down The Walls” as well as some great
intros, such as that of “Stortebeker”.
MOTLEY CRUE
American glamrock band from California, whom RUNNING WILD supported as Special Guests on their European tour in Winter 1985/1986.

on the 1st May. The owner Peter Mitnacht remembers the RUNNING WILD concert, which attracted 81 fans.

The blonde woman who runs the show – Vanessa Warwick is the wife of the Ricky Warwick ( ALMIGHTY front man).

Rolf “got his own back” by singing backing vocals and playing a guitar solo.

MULLTONE, Stade
RUNNING WILD’s first show took place on 1.3.1981, at 20:30hrs in
this club in the Bungenstrasse 8, in Stade near Luneburg, Germany.
Tickets cost 3.50DM. The Mulltone now only holds one concert a year
on the 1st May. The owner Peter Mitnacht remembers the RUNNING WILD concert, which attracted 81 fans.
Line-up: Rolf, Hasche, Matthias and Uwe.

Столько подробностей для настоящего фэна... Так понимаю, что основная часть это работа Даны Курт, а другая это твои дополнения?
